Zero to One

A friend of mine uses the term zero to one, and what zero to one refers to is zero being not doing anything, and one being that first step in doing something. That something could be, going to the gym. It could be starting a new career, or you name it. However, a lot of people don't take that first step. I'll give you a prime example of success in zero to one. I go to a gym, and it's a small, locally owned gym, privately owned. I like it. And there's a person that comes, young woman that is not in the best of shape, but she goes from zero to one every time she walks in there, and I am inspired by that. Because it's my opinion that if you're in pretty good shape or moderate shape, it's not nearly as hard to go to the gym because you're pretty close to being there already. But when you're starting from zero, that first step is, is the hardest. And I am very, very inspired to, to see her there. In fact, there's days when I don't feel like going, and then I think to myself, "You know what? I bet she's there, what a load I am if I'm not gonna go. So she, without even knowing it, she's inspiring me and pushing me to be better by her efforts. Zero to one, of course, does not just limit itself to that application. There are so many other things in life that could be positive change after you take that first step. It could be getting out of a, work environment that isn't good for you. It's a, what they call a toxic work environment. It could be in a bad relationship and taking that first step and getting out of that bad relationship and bettering yourself. It can be applied to so many different applications, but the key takeaway here is simply zero to one. Zero meaning you're not doing it, one being, of course, that very first step, that first step towards your success, your next goal achievement being met.

But it all starts from zero to one.
